The City of Sandusky Recreation Department offers a wide variety of programs that are designed to improve the quality of life for Sandusky residents of all ages.

Through play, education and community-wide special events we grow individually and as a community.recreational opportunities for kids and adults of all ages. Join us!

Current Activities  


Walk for Health  

It's easy! Sign up at City Hall. Log your own miles and send or bring them into City Hall. Use the form included with the sign-up brochure or download the mileage log. When you have walked 100 or 500 miles, we will let you know and you will earn your 100 or 500 mile T-Shirt. You must sign up at City Hall to be eligible for a T-shirt.

You can plan your route on the City Map, available on the Map Page. Sandusky High School is available for walking in the halls on Mondays and Thursdays, 7:00 - 9:00 pm, during the school year. For more information, contact the Recreation Director.

The one mile walking path at Diamond Trail Park and is the perfect spot to "Walk for Health."

  • Walk for Health (all ages)
  • Summer Recreation - A five week program for boys and girls that offers field trips, swimming, arts & crafts and many other activities on a daily basis. Over 100 children particpate annually.
  • Sandusky City Clean-up - A one day program for boys and girls, that gives kids a chance to take pride in their City by helping clean up the streets and neighborhoods. Kids receive a free breakfast and T-shirt for participating.
